Hey,

My name is Brice Royer, I’m a volunteer and one of the community managers of Jeff Han’s Multi Touch Technology Archives.

The reason why I’m interested in multi-touch screen technology is
because I had a physical disability for several years. I couldn’t use
computers and felt very frustrated.

My intention is to help you connect with the leaders in this industry
who are improving the way people interact with technology. I’m
honored to be part of your movement.

Here’s your chance to post your Twitter to over 3,153 members in the
multi-touch screen newsletter.

Leave a comment below with your Twitter link and explain why we should people follow you.

You know the blog rules: Don’t pitch, provide value.

Always give more than you expect to receive.

Let’s get to know each other!

Talk soon,
Brice

  • Hi all,
My twitter is @ferg4ddc & @onebigfield. I run a small user experience consultancy, www.onebigfield.com. I talk about play and work.

I want to develop a multi-touch digital wall to allow me to work with distributed teams between offices: Bristol to London, Bristol to Mumbai, Mumbai to Shanghai etc.

I need one to practice the way I work - lots of post-its, 10s of flipchart sheets stuck up on walls through workshops I run. I want to start working digitally across shared walls.

I need help building these digital walls. I have no real intentions to monetise it. And I have every intention to share my thinking and process with one and all.

Most important to me is finding a solution that sits it as close to wiimote end of the spectrum, piggybank over existing, cheap technology.

So I'll be following yous to solicit help and advice in this endeavour.

    All the best,
    Fergus

  • Im very excited about the possibilities of multi-touch as a tool in the creative process. During my formative years, my toys were an art box, tape recorder, synthesisers and cameras. During my teens I experimented with musical composition, sampling and jammed with bands. Over the years I explored different aspects of creative process, and computers have become an invaluable tool for combining analogue with digital techniques and materials. I've always been frustrated with the keyboard and mouse interface.

Multi-touch and simple hand gestures that work intuitively will revolutionise the way we use computers and provided the cost isn't too high a barrier, will make computers significantly more accessible for all ages and abilities.

I'm working in a startup specialising in writing multitouch software.
  • Multitouch will be everywhere if the tech also allows for stylus input as discrete work like sketching cannot be done by fingers, something I find annoying with Apple's insistence on fingers only computing.

I use Twitter to quickly share links to my blog posts and also to retweet interesting links. I maintain three blogs, which are my online filing cabinets, open to the world.

My main blog is Interactive Multimedia Technology. The blog focuses interactive multimedia technology that supports collaboration, communication, creativity, and learning. Topics include multi-touch and gesture interaction, HCI, natural user interfaces (NUI), interactive displays, universal usability and accessibility, and multimedia content in a 2.0/2.0 world. (http://interactivemultimediatechnology.blogspot.com)

The World Is My Interface is a blog I started three years ago when I was studying Ubiquitous Computing and Human Computer Interaction. This blog focuses mostly on emerging technologies.
What is the interface? Real-world locations and public spaces (airports, shopping centers, lobbies, buildings, plazas, parks, etc.), educational or social networks and settings, as well as virtual worlds - simulations, games, VR, or augmented reality - just about anything humans interact with in their daily lives. I post about every day objects from time-to-time, in homage to Don Norman. (http://tshwi.blogspot.com)

TechPsych: I am a school psychologist in my day job, and I work with a wide range of students, including some with severe disabilities such as autism. The blog focuses on information useful to psychologists, teachers, speech and language therapists, technologists, and parents who are interested in learning more about technology and how it can be integrated it in their work with young people. Topics include Universal Design for Learning, engaged learning, social-emotional & communication skills development, interventions, games for learning, cognitive development, and health & wellness. I am a student Communication & Multimedia Design from Rotterdam, Holland. I'm in the process of building 2 multitouch objects (1 FTIR table, 1 LLP wall). Besides that I'm involved in various projects where I will be designing interactions for multitouch environments. I want to become the link between the multitouch community and students at my school. Trying to get things rolling by introducing, inspiring and motivating fellow students to multitouch. And hoping they will pick it up and start building/designing great innovative applications.
What I can offer; All new things I learn from an interaction design point of view when building/designing/developing new products. Happy to share, happy to discuss.
  • I graduated from the same school! Live in USA now though.
